Please be cordially invited to attend the inaugural Asia Pacific Region Innovation & Capacity Building Symposium 2023 (APICS 2023) on 14-15 December 2023 at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.

The event is jointly organized by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong, China (HKCAD) and the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA), with full support from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Office.  

As the APAC Region has been undergoing a fast pace of air traffic recovery, timely planning and deployment of innovative technology and investment on capability building are of vital importance in further enhancing air navigation and airport operations, while bringing tangible benefits in a sustainable manner.  

APICS 2023 has set the theme of “Uniting the Strength of Innovation for Building a Seamless Sky” and will host keynote speeches and panels on innovation and capacity building, with global leading exhibitors showcasing their innovative solutions and capabilities with focuses on air navigation service and airport operations via exhibitionsdemonstrations and talks in the following areas:

- Innovative technology and digital solutions
- Satellite-based and ground-based applications
- Drone detection and management
- Advanced simulators
- Artificial intelligence
- Big data analytics
- Autonomous technology for airport operations
- Capacity building and training services
and so on.

The Three “First”
APICS 2023 is the first Symposium in the APAC Region with theme of innovation and capacity building for expediting implementation of seamless air navigation service. It is the first CAAC, HKCAD and HKIAA co-hosted Symposium to showcase capabilities of the Mainland, Hong Kong and overseas exhibitors in innovation, technologies and capacity building for civil aviation; while it is also the first Symposium in Hong Kong with exhibitions focusing on innovation in civil aviation to promote interest of young generation in the latest technologies for civil aviation.

Sharing from Expert Panelists
APICS 2023 will bring together aviation leaders, decision-makers and senior professionals from civil aviation with a common goal for building a seamless sky.  To facilitate sharing of experience, three expert panels will be organized:

Expert Panel #1. Innovation in Sky - Air Navigation Service
Discover the latest advancements and strategies that are shaping the future of air navigation service.  Explore visionary concepts that are revolutionizing the air navigation service and conducive to interoperable air traffic management.

Expert Panel #2. Innovation on Ground - Airport Operations
Gain insights into ground breaking innovations that are transforming airport operations.  Uncover innovative approaches to apron control, aircraft handling and parking, passenger service and safety management etc, which will redefine the airport experience.  

Expert Panel #3. Capacity Building for Civil Aviation Workforce
Unleash the potential of our civil aviation workforce and dive deep into the realm of capacity building. Explore innovative training methodologies, talent development strategies and initiatives aimed at strengthening the civil aviation workforce.
